Adventuring to Cornwall with Hertz
Published by Kim Leuenberger on 01 April 2017
At the beginning of April, my friend Alex and I took off for a little road trip to Cornwall in partnership with Hertz rental cars, to discover this fabulous region by the road, as Spring just made a major and welcomed come-back!

I've been living in the UK for 4 years now and Cornwall had been on my bucket list since forever, and as we had to finish filming the remaining scenes of our documentary - In Search of the Unfathomable Unicorn, coming out soon for our degree show - we just couldn't wait to set off toon a sunny Sunday afternoon.

After picking up our car at Hertz in London City Airport (and get an awesome upgrade!) we set off on the road, direction Crackington Haven.

5 hours later, we parked the car right by the beach, got ourselves an amazing Cornish Ice Cream (it is a must, believe me) and walked to the beach.

The light was absolutely incredible and there wasn't a cloud in sight in the sky, you could have thought it was already summer. I took off my shoes and dipped my feet in the water, that quickly reminded me it wasn't summer yet, but it was well worth it anyway :)

Shortly before sunset we took off to Boscastle, where we spent the rest of the evening, before heading to Tintagel, where we stayed overnight.

We went to explore Cornwall with the Travelling Cars
Crackington Haven was seriously cracking (I'm sorry, I had to!)
Who can seriously resist stopping the car when there's such cute sheep on a field at sunset?
On day 2 we left Tintagel to explore around St Nectan's Glen then made our way to St Ives.

People alway told me that I would instantly fall in love with St Ives the day I go there.
Well, they were right. St Ives is probably my favourite place in the UK right now, it is a truly magical place. As soon as we had parked our car, a magnificent rainbow appear. I was over the moon! (if you ever take the train down to St Ives and want a car to go around from there, Hertz Penzance offers a free shuttle service, more info at the end of the post)

We walked the streets of St Ives, took photos on the beach, and took the scenic coast road to St Just.
This truly was the most beautiful road I had ever driven on, unfortunately the weather wasn't so good then.

We got to St Just quite late in the evening, had an other epic meal and that was already the end to another awesome day on the road.

Tintagel Castle
St Nectan's Glen Waterfall
that photo was on my bucket list for about forever!
On day 3, we had a little lie (and the most perfect breakfast from our Airbnb host!) and took off to Porthcurno and the Minack theatre. This place is just out of this world. We walked along the cliffs (we do indeed like to do that a lot it seems) and I could just have sat there watching the waves forever.

But we still decided to get on our way to Penzance (through the scenic road) for a well deserved hot chocolate. We walked by the boardwalk, and admired the magnificent view over St Michael's Mount from there, before making our way to see it from closer. It didn't disappoint.

After a few hours spent on the beach, we went to our final destination of the day, well photographically wise, to Lizard point. The sunset was absolutely amazing that evening, with the coolest hues of pinks in the sky. We also found cows, so I was pretty happy.

That was our last day in Cornwall, so we stopped for Fish and chips on our way back, and drove back North West, towards Dartmoor National Park before heading back to London, our hearts full of wonderful memories of this amazing piece of the world!
A new Hertz branch opened near from St Michael's mount!
I really like cows
